One perk of living in a tropical place like Bangladesh (and when it's monsoon season, ridiculously humid, and mosquitoes everywhere, you need a perk) is that we get a lot of interesting fruit to try. Besides the fresh whole pineapple (50 cents) we pick up every time we go to the grocery store, we have been experimenting with other random local and regional fruits. It's like a little mystery game of "what will the inside look like?"


We knew what to expect with this one -- dragon fruit -- because we enjoyed it in Thailand. I think it's probably the prettiest fruit, inside and out, that there is.


And it tastes good too (kind of like a cross between a bland kiwi flavor and melon-like texture).
